Grammy-award winning artist and R&B star Lauryn Hill will be spending the next few months behind bars. The 37-year-old was sentenced to three months in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of failing to file tax returns on $1.8 million.

According to AM New York, Hill was also sentenced to three months of home confinement and a $60,000 fine. A Newark, New Jersey court sentenced the singer, who was in danger of facing up to three years in prison. Hill, reportedly, must report to prison on July 8.

According to Business Insider, Hill got the hint as she paid over $900,000 in taxes she owed just recently.

Hill just posted a new single on her Tumblr page Friday called "Neurotic Society." Hill said that she was "required" to release the song by "virtue of impending legal deadline."
