Comedian, actress, and TV host Sherri Shepherd joined WOR 710's Joan Hamburg Thursday to talk about her fight with Diabetes. Shepherd has a new book out titled "Plan D: How to Lose Weight and Beat Diabetes (Even If You Don't Have It)," which she talked about with Joan.

Shepherd has had a very personal battle with the disease, losing her mother to Diabetes and having to overcome Type 2 Diabetes herself. "I had to learn to face life in a different way," Shepherd said of being diagnosed with Diabetes. "Facing life with my refrigerator as my best friend was killing me slowly," Shepherd went on to explain. Shepherd, well known for her hosting duties on "The View," explained that she was diagnosed with Diabetes a couple weeks before starting on "The View." She has lost 40 pounds during her time on the daytime ABC talk show and she told Joan how she successfully changed her lifestyle.
