Chicago River Dyed Green For St. Patrick's Day

The Chicago River was dyed green for St. Patrick's Day. The river in downtown Chicago was turned green early Saturday morning, kicking off St Patrick's Day festivities in the city. Large crowds gathered along the banks of the river for the annual event, to watch workers from the Chicago Plumbers Union dump dye into the river, turning it into a bright shade of green. Chicago was recently named by Wallethub the best city in the country to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
