The defending College Football Playoff National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes are once again the top-ranked team in college football.
The Buckeyes ranked No. 1 overall in the Week 2 Associated Press Top 25 College Football Poll released on Tuesday (September 2), jumping two spots from No. 3 overall. Ohio State defeated the Texas Longhorns, who ranked No. 1 overall team in the preseason poll, 14-7, at Ohio Stadium on Saturday (August 30).
The Longhorns dropped six sports to No. 7 overall following Saturday's loss. Penn State stayed at No. 2 overall following its 46-11 win against Nevada on Saturday.
LSU climbed six spots to No. 3 overall after its 17-10 win against Clemson Saturday night.
