Steve Bannon Agrees To Meet With Robert Mueller

Donald Trump's former campaign manager Steve Bannon has agreed to sit down for an interview with Special Counsel Robert Mueller in his on-going investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. According to Fox News, Bannon will not have to face questioning in front a grand jury.

Bannon was subpoenaed last week by Mueller after he was quoted in Michael Wolff's book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, calling a meeting between members of the Trump campaign and a Russian lawyer "treasonous." That meeting has been a point of focus in the Mueller investigation, despite the people involved denying anything of importance was discussed.

Bannon's quotes set off a very public feud between himself and President Trump, that ultimately resulted in Bannon leaving his position at Breitbart News.

The agreement to meet with Mueller comes one day after Bannon sat down with the House Intelligence Committee, which is also looking into possible interference from the Kremlin in the 2016 presidential election. His appearance lasted around 12 hours, and frustrated some lawmakers with his refusal to answer certain questions. He will return to Capitol Hill on Thursday to meet with lawmakers again.
